Vman, this is going to be a great event! Are you coming?
I'm a member of the Capital Area AWA Club and we're working the event so we met yesterday with a couple of AWA officials to work out job details, etc. There are already 80+ people who registered and we are expecting to have over 200 this year.
I also ate lunch at Tim's RiverShore yesterday (they are providing lunch for us on the 24th). It was great and I think everyone will really enjoy the food!
The cost for the event is only $10 which covers park entrance and ramp fee, a great lunch, and a goody bag. The normal entrance and ramp fee is $10 so this is a super deal.
Who else is coming?

Yes, I am coming, along w/ the w/u and looking foward to the ride.
I was wondering about a room; can you recommend someplace or a least a town? Woodbridge? Dumfries? Southbridge?
Which is closer to the park and/or has trailer parking?
I'm also going to call the AWA tomorrow to register and see if they have anything like a group rate set up at some place.
Thanks for any help, Jag- sounds like a relly good event, can't wait. Vic

I'm pretty sure that I will be attending as well... not sure if it'll be just me, or both Dad and I
definitely would like to know ur recommendations on places to stay and the same questions as Vman.

Good deal, Shib. I'm thinking about hanging around Sunday also and doing a little Potomac river riding.
You gonna get a room down there or just go for the day? Lot of driving just for 1 day.

Shimm; I was also thinking just what you said- stay Fri & Sat nights.
Drive down Fri afternoon do the ride Sat- have a little dinner, a few drinks... then Sun go back out on the Potomac and explore around, never forgetting to experience more than brief moments of wot . You know, the usual....
