Rotax 785 on its side in my Rhino

I'll put up a pic when its actually gutted, but I came to this forum asking for help on crank/clutch conversion. Got it done, my question for you folks is ---is it alright to lay this engine 90 degrese w/the stock carbs straight up? I have seen Rotax run this way, but not sure about the carbs. Still the factory Mikuni, so no float bowl. Thanks in advance---Proflow

I would say that it shouldn't be a problem, if they were drawing from under the engine maybe not, but on top, should be fine.

Ok, so Ive messed around abit w/some twin Speedworks pipes, also the factory 2-1 ski-doo pipe as well. Today I got to looking more closely @ the stock xp pipe & can. I think I may go this rought instead of the twins. Just divert the water fitting is the way I see it. I know I wont get my initial big hp numbers I was greedy for , but 110 or so in a Rhino w/the asm polaris ranger trans should be impressive anyway. Thats of course if its clutched properly ! Only one more stumble to get by, I have both 96 & 97 complete ignition. From the reading Iv'e done the 97 (ground wire) is superior but a soft tough rev box is more cash. Kinda tossed up on that one. But heres the real question---I have everything but a key for either of these harnesses. Ok, so do I have to go to the stealer & have one programmed like my 96 when I lost it or is there a work around ? I know its all about resistance etc..to activate, but if I were to eliminate that feature will it still light up & do its thing? Thanks again in advance--Proflow

You guys still there? Are you all dissapointed Im not doing the twins ? I am. But reality set in & said the single would work best for a machine that will see alot of trail/rock/winch climbing. Ya what sucks is I want the front tires off the ground @ the beach in Oregon doing say 85 plus also. I kinda see it this way though, take out a pig heavy 35hp & put in a 110 min. lightweight twin--Cant loose. Any opinions ?---Proflow
