    RXP UMI install, pics....

I installed umi steering on my rxp this winter and just got around to taking some pics today.... kind of a pian in the ass but well worth it. took it out for the first time today and . The difference is night and day. you are in complete control of the craft. best $ ive spent so far on the ski.

I got rid of the crappy stock gasket and hardware. put down a light bead of silicone and some shiney new ss hardware. The dess post is the right side because that was the only bracket i got w/ the kit and i made it work. Bars are tag metals X5 (forgot which bend) and grips are ODI 130mm w/ no flange and ODI end caps. finger throttle is an old PJS plastic type, cost me $10 on ebay. I had to sand down the throttle cable to get it work though.

we found the umi easy to fit! the only tricky part is grinding the edge of the glas so it fits in but otherwise easy.
I dont know how much one would cost to buy seperately but we used the vts housing from our rxp-x with the 04 motor and electrics and left the mode button under the hood as we leave it on rpm all the time anyway.

I was thinking that might could just put the mode button under the hood like you said.
I ordered the complete setup which comes with vts but no mode. I wonder if that will work the same and can put the mode under hood with umi trim switch.

I really like that idea for the start button but like skoepp i got the full kit with the house but i might end up putting my mode and set buttons under the reverse handle. Looks real good, i like how without the buttons on the bar there are no visible wires, looks real clean.
