Well I got Glen this morning and he looked at the pump and thought it was not that big of a deal?????
I called him back later and he said that he went ahead and replaced the bearings and bored out the SS ring to 5 thousandths.
It was about 3 1/2 to 4.
He said the it got rid of all the marks and thought I would be OK to head to the Bug.
But I have to cover freight which I was not going to argue as he put everything on hold to get this done for me.
So it will be here in the morning and I will get it on.
If it works I will be happy

You shouldn't have to cover 100% of the freight. If this thing is under a warranty he should atleast cover the cost of shipping both ways via fedex ground or 3 day, or something reasonable.

Got the pump back. GP said it looked OK but went ahead and changed bearings. It feels tighter than before. He bored out the ring and it seems that is is going to work out better (I Hope!!)
Before the prop hit the ring @ install. Now it is uniform all around.

Well I just pulled the pump and prop to inspect it.
There is one tiny little mark but not a gouge just a normal spot.
This thing held up great.
I can not say it was all the pump as I did my "VE" mount at the same time so I am sure it did not hurt???
This is the "after" picture.
