    power cutting in and out......

I just today purchased two skiis. one is a 96 GTX and the other a 97 GTX. One has power surges. You can hold down the throttle and power will kick in and let off at its own will. Being as these are the first jet skiis I've ever owned I am in a definite learning curve here. Any suggestions I would gladly appreciate. thanks. ~Kenny

First off, you should check the feul filters(there are three on the 787s) one in line and one in each carb. If you have the grey fuel lines stamped "tempo" you should replace those. Any automotive 1/4" line shouls suffice and you will need about 20'-25'.

Next you will need to pull the RAVE valves and clean the guck off of them and the channels they are in.

If this doesn't fix the problem, its probably the rectifier which is in the front electrical box, to test this you un hook the 2-3 yellow wire going into the front elec. box and take the ski for a short test ride and see if it runs properly.

    I hope this helps.

    fuel itself...

Do you recommend premixing the fuel or the auto injection?

I've got a 96 XP I still let it mix the oil for me, but you can pre mix if it makes you feel safer.

also remove and clean or replace the fuel selector knobs, they get clogged. cleaning is pretty easy, but for 20 bux, so is replacement
have you tried running on reserve?? if it runs good on reserve but crappy on normal selector, thats a sign of clogged knobs...
okokok i know its not the knob thats clogged its the selector mechanism!!!
take it apart and clean it
