Modding my 06 RXP or get 08 RXP-X?

Currenlty my 06 RXP has :-

    1- Riva stage 1
    2- Riva rear exhaust kit
    3- Thermostat
    4- blow-off valves

And im thinking now to add :-

    1- special metal washers
    2- 4" air intake ( Coz my Riva stg1 has 3" intake )
    3- impeller 15/20R.
    4- stainless steel wear ring
    5- greenwheel
    6- xs intercooler kit
    7- 42# injectors
    8- Riva Pro-Series Reduction Nozzle

    It would hit 77mph-78mph

    OR.........................

Get brand new 08 RXP-X and add lets say Riva stg1 ?

What stock RXP-X speed ? How many +mph i would get after Riva stg1?

    Thanks in advance

I like the colors on the 06 and would just keep it and mod it.
You will save a bunch of cash in registration and taxes with the new ski that could just be spent in mods on the 06.

Heck they are the same dang ski anyway. Little differences in the way they ride and the larger pump opening is a hurdle to overcome on the X right now.

i have an 07 rxp with 18hrs now, i just added a XC IC, ST 3 SC, and some other mods ....77.2mph last friday on a windy day 1/2tank.

so if the $ is not an issue than get the rxp-x and what ever mods are out there and you'll be at 75++ i think, or just add a litle more to you'r rxp and you can be there ease. its you'r call....if its me, i dont have the $ for an X i would just keep the rxp.
i hope this help a litle.

If you like to wrench on your ski then stay with the boat you got and have fun with your gains.
If you want a fast ski with minor stage 1 mods, and not wrench on your ski then go with the X.
I have no experience on the P but i can say that the T-X is very impressive and if the stage 1 setup will put me at 75 I will be happy and content with that.
The hookup is so good that most competition is going to be trying to catch up so top end might not be what is important.
We just have to hope that with the new grate and prop that the hook up will still be there.

    Good luck with your decision.

I got my RXP-X to 75mph with minimal mods. I am very impressed with it!

Isn't the 08 RXP-X a 255HP engine whereas the 06 is a 215hp? I think the 08 RXP-X 255HP with a couple mods would be the way I'd go. I am new to Seadoos but not Skidoos. I have been snowmobiling for 30 years on highend sleds and am usually a fan of the saying "no replacement for displacement" Can't wait to get a new Doo. I have been looking hard at the new 08 X

Also BRP has a deal of 0% interst for 36 months right now on new units.

Horsepower isn't everything. That's why the RXP-X and RXP215 have top end speeds within 1mph of each other out of the crate.

The larger intake grate area is an obstacle with the RXP-X right now.
