What PSI, pressure test 785 pipes

    Searched, no luck.

What PSI should I test my pipes at?

Was chasing 400 rpm's all last summer. Noticed a small crack in one of my pipe-collector hose's. New hoses and couplers on the way and figured i'd test my pipes.

Also, had a valve adjuster on the mag cylinder on the way out as I noticed it is now broken.

Hmmm, yeah that would definitly suck in the ski.

I took a shot at it and if i'm thinking correctly, the test should have worked fine.

Of course my pipes were out so i tested only the expansion chambers. But anywho...I plugged the pisser fitting, and attached my handy pop-off tester to the water inlet side of the pipe. Couldnt think of any other way that I should be testing it.

I had only tried it at 5psi, but each held 5psi for well over 20 minutes a piece without dropping at all.

In theory if my cooling jacket had no leaks from the test I did, I should be fine.

The hose I thought was leaking was cracked from the outside, but was not all the way through. It did however not seal very well for some reason on the collector side and blew the black exhaust shit all over up front. Couldnt even notice this till it was out of the ski.

So it still could have been causing a problem.

Yeah, I guess I'm always overthinking the easy to miss stuff. With excess exhaust in hull, I'm obviously not getting good breathing air!

And is probably the number one reason why I was CONSTANTLY working on my jetting. I'd richen it up and it would be good, then it lose rpms again, then i'd lean it out and it would run good, then again, run like crap.

And this progressively got worse later in the summer. I remember right after I put the ADA head on, it immediately showed on the lean edge. After several times of riding it, i never saw that lean spot again, and I know i tried the original jetting again.
The hose quite possibly was leaking more and more each time I took it out.
