    driveshaft to engine coupler

I am having a heck of a time getting the driveshaft to slide into the engine coupler, is there a trick? I have alligned the engine and pump with the allignment tool and everything looks perfect. I am now attempting to install the driveshaft into the engine coupler and it goes as far as half the splines in the little black rubber boot at the end of engine coupler and then it stops. I thought maybe it was a problem with the splines so I pulled the driveshaft out and removed the engine coupler and it will go on the driveshaft but it gets to the same point and then I really have to push it hard to get it to go on. What the heck am I doing wrong? Any help to get me past this point would make my day!!!

First try removing the rubber seal and re installing the drive shaft. If you still have the same problem, you're not aligned properly. Most likely, splines are binding inside the coupler.

Is it a long driveshaft? Those seem to be a beotch going into the SS couplers. My G/F's is a PITA to install too.

Are you talking about the rubber seal that is at the end of the engine coupler? Does it just pull out?

Ok guys I got it! Thanks for all your help. I pulled the rubber seal off the engine coupler and the driveshaft slid right in without any problem I then put the rubber seal back on and it slid right in as well. I am guessing it was hanging on the rubber seal at some point. Thanks again.
