    99 gp 1200 ride plate

Friend of mine has a 99 gp 1200 and got a riva ride plate for it that is about 6 to 8 inches shorter then stock. does anybody know what this will do to ride and handling of this craft. He was looking to get rid of some porposing. Thanks, Donald

It will not help the porpoising if it's shorter than stock. It will make it worse. I bet he has the "groovy" Riva plate.

One of those Riva products that belong in the trash.

depends what your setup is now. how fast does the ski go?
also, are the sponsons stepped? shoe not properly sealed?
switching out that rideplate would probably help even if you just throw the stocker back on

We are talking about a GP, not a GPR.

Shredmaster, R&D, & Riva Limited Edition plate will help.

This one will definitely keep it from porpoising.

After looking at pics of a stock plate, there must be an aftermarket plate on it because it extends 6 or 8 inches beyond the pics I saw

The best way to tell, would be to take a pic of it and post it. Surely one of us "Old School" guys will be able to identify it. The plate that O-side has for sale will help with the porpoising....a great price too.... compared to what it originally sold for.
