    185 to 215 ecu Questions

Am I even stupid to consider the 215 hp ecu in the GTX SC (185) ski? I completely understand the consequences of the high RPMs on the stock 185 engines...My concern is how many RPMS can I add SAFELY? Will adding the 215 ecu require other mods? --jeremy

From what i have learned it is not a problem to run 8,100rpm on cast pistions if you do not push the boost to high.
I think to run a 8,100 rpm ecu on your boat you need the 58 psi fuel reg.
I have one in classifieds if you decide to go that way.
I can not remember what else it was going to take, as i have strayed away from that topic and have forgotten since i sold my GTX.
Check back on some threads as i asked about every question in the book on changing the 185 ecu to the 215 ecu.
    good luck .

I am close to purchasing a Greenwheel for the stock SC. Is there a difference in Greenwheel for the 185 -vs- the 215? If so, I am planning on an eventual ecu upgrade. Should a SC shaft/gear upgrade be in order, or am I digging myself deeper into the confussion hole? --jeremy

i ran my 03 gtx for 30 hrs last summer with the rxp ecu, rxp i/c and a rr s/c fan. 06 s/c update kit with metal washers (make sure u add the 3 washers to the back of the s/c to space it away from the motor) i added the 215 fuel reg. and oil spring also put in the 215 fly wheel and the 215 s/c gear didn't have any problem you'll need to reprop to get the r's up i was running a 14/19 and metal pump with the rxt drive shaft, i was a little over prop but i new i was going to add more this year my speed was in the high 68 mph on gps.this year i added the rxp 215 fordge pistions and went to the rr spacer fan. i mad my owne 160 deg thermostat might also add the 42 lb inj. just put the motor back in the boat yesterday need a couple of more hrs to finish and i'll get some new #'s on her. go 4 it
