    r/d stage 2 VS 1390 Big bore

Hey everyone, i was wondering if someone can give me REAL numbers on what these skis really run...

R/d says a stage two runs about 70mph
    http://www.rd-performance.com/perfor...00r/stage2.asp

    Group K says a 1390 runs 72-73mph
    http://www.groupk.com/y1390.htm

how accurate are these numbers? I want to do either setup on my ski. I will be using a single pipe (either a riva stinger or stock/D plate setup)

    thanks in advance

    I guess you are working on a 1200 ?

Whats your budget and what speeds/type of riding you looking to do ?

I would go with the "Whatever WFO suggests kit"

I will bet he has most everything you need to blow away both those kits you asked about, and at a better price.

Those two kits would be fine, but its the fine tuning, ride plate tweeking, pump mod stuff that will get you going faster, cheaper. WFO can hook you up.

Skip group K, Skip R&D or Riva kits.

most of us on the forum use some of the parts available from Riva and R&D to build up our skis - but we have modified, tweaked or enhenced just about everything to get better performance - not many of us would use a stage II kit off the shelf

Here is one example of what I mean

    http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51839

Here is a less extreme example

    http://rivaforums.com/eve/forums?a=t...093#2571066093

The Group K set-up is very conservative, again most of us would push the envelope much farther.

WFO could help get you pointed in the right direction

    Welcome to the Room!
    I run a Goup k motor,
out of the box with stock plate and 1200 grate it ran 71mph.

with a little work you can get to 74. from there on up, I don't care what you run for a motor, IT IS A LOT OF work and money to get more MPH!

If you have a 1200 and 2200.00 the GK is a good deal. BUT don't fool your self with thinking The kit is all you will need. You need the kit, a 1200 or 800 grate (125.00) a new impeller (200. +) .
If you go to GK let me know. I have learn ALOT. You can save a lot of time by putting it together the AGRESSIVE way. not harrys way. if you want. Harry make a damn fine motor, but he is very conservative. 74 is not hard to hit.
