    External I/C Installation Orientation

OK, so I'm finally getting my Rotax Racing IC put in tomorrow.
Finally gonna be spring for a day here in Kansas on Sunday.

I don't remember/cant find thread where some one mentions
to Install an External I/C with a slight tip to the side
to help drain water out and maybe help with water ingestion
should I get a little water in it.
Which way do you tip it??
    Thanks

    well

I don't know about making a hole to drain, if you make a hole you will loose overall boost, unless it's a screw darin plug, but if water gets in there you could'nt tell until after water has gone by????

My XS IC happened to end up being horizontal. Many tilt them with the low side toward the outside of the ski. I've never read anything on the Forum that indicates a perferred tilt. They are large and the space is tight so when you get it in there you lock it down, whatever the angle. Caldo's thought about a 1/8 pipe plug or 10/32 screw on the bottom for draining in winter is a neat idea but most of us just fill it with anti-freeze and it works fine.

sorry foggy, i have no answer for you.
Good luck with your mods. I would think that with all the trouble you have had to get the ic to fit, you will be happy however it sits.

Was it to keep incoming water from aeration or something like that?
