Mudbug riding area is a no wake zone due to high water

Let's hope the water goes down. I just took a ride to take these pics. The water is already in many camps and other owners are putting out sandbags to protect their property.

The water is already up over the bulkhead at my parents camp and we're told that the water is going to come up another foot. This will put it in the pool at the camp.

Those familiar with Doirons landing will recognize the pic of the landing. The water is almost up to the walk way.

The pic of the trucks launching their boats in the water is across the levy from Doiroins store.

I also took a pic of the river front in Morgan City. The water is all the way up to the seawall.

Right now the entire mudbug riding area is a no wake zone

What is the cause of this? The bayou's empty directly into the Gulf correct?

Ahh, well you know buy June it will be fine. Most of the country will be back to drought warning by then. It's a shame we can't figure out how to save the excess water in some places to be utilized in others. Imagine if the excess Mississippi water that is being wasted with the flooding could be relocated to Lake Mead or wherever. That much fresh water being dumped into the ocean is a waste.

I agree. The rivers round here are all at flood stage as well.

This also shows you how resistant water is to movement or change. The excess water is coming down the Miss. and when it meets the ocean it is being pushed back into the delta and the bayou's.
