    Check Engine Light

So I put the ski in for the first time this summer yesterday... ran awesome, 8100 RPM with great speeds, fired right up no issues what so ever. Started and stopped it a few times throughout the day. Went down today and when I connected the key, got a check engine light, hit set 5 times and got P1676...which according to the list is a fucked up wiring to the MPEM...."Spare outut 1 shorted to 12V..." Is this something that can manifest itself over night??? It was perfect yesterday, stored properly, and now this garbage!!!

Any one have any idea how to test this or to fix this?? I don't even know where my MPEM is!!

The MPEM is the fuse box in the front of the ski. You should start by getting the electrical diagram and checking to see if the indicated fuses are blown.

Jaycee, disconnect the battery, and disconnect the harness`s from the MPEM, carefully look at all the pins, see if there clean and in good shape.

The MPEM is the fuse box on the left side up front on an RXP. You probably have corroded connection to the output 1 plug. I would carefully pull the plugs out, inspect, clean with elecctronics cleaner, add a little dielectric grease and plug back in.

    Lets make matters worse....

I d/c'ed the battery to check and see if that would clear the check engine light and work it out... now I am getting a completely different code.. P1656...which isn't even on the trouble codes list. I will check the MPEM in the front of the ski and see what happens
