Yam 84. the unit I have is the 1290 and that seems to be the only single pipe agressive curve in it?

Be careful with that curve, it's prone to deto in the mid-range according to Lowell as it has too much advance. It does accelerate like a banshee with that curve! You should have yam-94 as well which is a good curve.

I have not done any research yet but does the advent do anything for top end or just more with accel? Just curious I was thinking about it for my 1200GPR..

yes thanks I just looked it does have the 94 curve,I was just looking at the differance, it seems at 4500 rpms the three cylinders change timming, 1&2 go up for a few rpms and 3 goes down.

I will never be able to hit the 4700-6500 timing spot with my group k motor. My power band kicks in, I took this from harrys site:

The 1390 offers clean carburetion and smooth operation at “most” speeds, but it does have a cruising limitation. Because of the port timing layout, and the absence of moving valves, the 1390 can cruise steadily up to 4600 rpm, and above 6200 rpm. However no amount of throttle control can allow cruising between 4700 and 6100 rpm (at 4700 it jumps instantly to 6200+). For sport riders, this is never a problem of any kind. However for riders that engage in towing-sports that require steady median cruising speeds, the 1390 may not be the ideal choice. ..

So I can't hit that high timming spot

we will see how it runs tomarrow. I can try both real easy. I think I will Thank Vodoo!

I am not sure? Good question.
But if you get the edge on a guy out of the hole,, It will take him a long time to catch back up to you on top end!
