    r&d grate breaking??

    how fast does your ski half to be to break the r&d grate. tryin to decide if i need a stainless one. my ski has ff plate,head,fi controller,ho pump, r&d tabs,ir holeshot,but i havent finished yet so no gps numbers thinking 70 to 72 ? what do you think ?

    i think most people say if you're 75+ you need a safer grate.

    I have been running my R&D 1200 grate in the 75-76 range with no issues.

    its the 800 grate thats not safe, aint it?

    ... I think it is both the GP800R and GP1200R intake grates that have reports of breaking

    I would be careful using these grates at any speed - this is especially true if when installing the grate it doesn't fit flat against the hull

    does the 800 grate cavitate real bad i have had a r&d single bar grate since 2000 and i know its probably scrubbing speed but very little cavitation

    it does on my 2002 conversion running a 14/22 but once it gets going omg

    We've had both grates break, but the 800's seem more prone to it. I wonder if that's because the fastest skis are all using 800 grates, so there's more opportunity for them to run into problems...
