    RXT X

I have about 8 hours on my RXT X now. I filled the ride plate holes and hit 69.1 gps with about half a tank. I was hitting 8120 rpm though. Does my prop need to be repitched or should I put on an adjustable venturi to compensate for this. Eventually I plan on putting a stage 1 kit, but for now I would just like to see rpm around 8000. On a side note before I filled the ride plate holes my rpm was around 8040 and saw a personal best of 68.2. Thanks for any comments.

It handles the chop real nicely, especially with the vts now. You can raise the venturi all the way and just skip. Drop it or about half way and you stay pretty well planted. I was in a 2 foot real sharp chop today and was hitting 65 gps no problem.

Jerry and others have shown that the new X models should be run at 8000 for best power results. I guess the ECU is programmed differently or something is mapped different.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Update: Today I am at 9 hours. Hit 70.4 on the gps @8160. I still need to get down a few to 8000. I am going to put in the pro nozzle with a 85mm ring. Then put in a 4 inch intake. We'll see what happens.

I'm sure the summer heat and humidity will get you down to 8000 no problem. Be carefull!

Jerry got word from the Seadoo boys that the X skis make peak power at 8000 RPM. Tune your setup for that.

Well I'm going to be putting the stage 1 prop and grate on once they are released. So for now, I will be running a four inch intake and the 85 mm ring. I figure the 4 inch will give me a gain of about 100 rpm and I am 160 over already. So with an 85 mm ring I'll be right about 8040 or so. Hopefully a full mile or two faster. Then with the prop and grate who knows. Either way the X machines are amazing!

Be careful....the nozzle reduced is a no-no., You've been warned!
