does anyone carry extra spark plugs?

    Hello all,
I was just wondering does any carry extra plugs on board while underway? I try to think of everything that i might need on a trip- but i never thought of packing some plugs along Sound like a good- great idea?
    or is this overkill?

I carry spares. If you have a 2 stroke its always a good idea, with a 4 stroke you would probably be less likely to need them. West marine has some plastic spark plug cases that work well to protect the gaps. They also will fit inside the fire extingisher tube still in the paper boxes.

Yes, and make sure that you have a wrench to change them with. Sometime when you roll one of these 2 strokes some oil will foul the plugs.

I also carry a folding paddle. I call it the "OH SH!T" paddle.

    Thanks for the replies..
Yeah i thought so... I think that this might be a good idea... I'll invest in a set... I just had the sparkplug recal done.. the dealer said that it would normally be about $100 for the plugs.. so at least now i know what i'll be spending on "just incase parts"replacement parts I have a folding paddle too!! I forget who it was on this board who said it might be a good idea... I also have on my bass boat(well, a small boat that catches bass)
    thanks!

    Thanks for the reply,
Well thats what the local dealer said they were going to cost.... who know's they might be made of gold..I mean if they are not that special then why so much? Perhaps thats the shop price, but if i go to any parts shop they might be more reasonable.I also think the plugs i got AFTER the recall might be of better quality than the ones that came with the ski. another reason for the recall in the first place..
    who knew?
