MIKUNI Jetting size for a 1300

I've had a search on the forums and couldn't find any info.

What Jet sizes would you use in a Mikuni carb going on a 1300?? I believe it has been ported and is going in an XLL if that makes any difference.

And is there anything else i should know about? i.e. Pilots, main, n/s, gram spring, 1 1/8 turn out on the lows. 1 turn out on the highs, etc, etc...

I'm on a fairly steep learning curve, so any info will help.

    Cheers

160's and 130's??? No way. I've never heard of that - ever.

The specs you posted from Fercho are a good ballpark figure. In fact, I agree with them except for the highs - I think those 135's are a little too fat. But that may be safe for you, depending on your tuning abilities. I've been running a Lowell ported 1300 with lots of compression for four years with 115/130's and never had a problem. Others run 135's, which is safe and perfectly fine.

115p/135m is a real good starting point.

This is what I am running currently on my 1300 ported motor
115low 135 high 2.0 N&S gold 115 gram spring. 1 turn out on the lows and 1-1/4 on the highs. When the carb's come out again I will go back to 1.5 N&S and dull silver 95 gram spring.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Much appriciated

OsideBill, why are you going to the 1.5 n/s and the 96gram spring? And what does that change?

Yes, but they are all Novi's or Blackjack 48 I body's. So not really applickable (Like i said, i did look b4 asking).

I would trust Bill's suggestion. Keep an eye on the piston wash, plug reading isn't too reliable on a 2stroke with unleaded fuel and cleaner burning oils IMO anyways..
