High temp warning when picking up ski

I was wondering if anyone could off any advice or suggestions on this. I rode my 05 RXP all day yesterday with not one problem at all. When I was picking up the ski from the launch and giving it some gas to clear the water out (only 5 to 10 seconds giving it gas), the high temp warning came on. The fluid levels all seemed to be fine. I pulled the ski back to my house, and as expected everything was fine when I cranked it up for a second. Has this ever happened to anyone after riding a whole day with no problems? Should I worry about this?

The ski was already hot. Running it on land without water flow through the exhaust, probably put it over the top. I wouldn't think that you have any problems.

the H-Temp alarm is an exhaust alarm.

Running it out of the water like you're doing is causing the H-Temp alarm because there is no water circulating thru your exhaust.

which is OK for a 1-2 second burst to blow the water out but not for longer runs without water flowing.

Thanks everyone! I didn't think I really had a problem, but I just wanted to make sure before I used my ski next weekend. Thanks!
