    RXP-X Cut Grate Questions

Ive ordered an extra stock intake grate, being tempted to cut the wings. My questions are for everyone thats done this already. What speed gains have you seen? Have you noticed any degradation in the "insane" hook up this ski posseses? Or any negatives?

The hook up is the main thing thats impressed me about the RXP-X!

Ive had many skis over the years, and Ive not been this impressed with a stock Seadoo since the 95' XP 800 Limited. (which I still have).

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

You could cut the wings on the stock intake grate...supposedly nets around 2 mph, but I've read that it causes "bucking." Another one is fill in your ride plate holes.

You guy's alright? Sorry, I've tried to warn everyone! STUFFING IS NO JOKE! It's not IF, it's when you'll get caught.

Now if you have the right scoop grate.... no problem

Holy smokes - that must have been one Hell of a ride.

I fell off the back of a RX-DI at about 60 MPH and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. It's such a sickening feeling that flash of time when you know that you're screwed but you haven't hit the water yet.

I'm glad that you're OK - was anything bruised or sore as a result of your impact with the water?

the only mod any of us have is intake grate cuts.....

73+mph no problem......we have made pass after pass with no issues....each ski has 11+ hours on it and all three have bucked..

It's not JUST chopping the throttle that causes the stuff, the ski HAS TO RUN LEVEL and any disruption of water in the intake sends you over the bars.
