What would cause the hole shot to decrease?

    Hi folks!

I have about 13 hours on my stock RXP and the hole-shot does not seem to be like I remember it before I brought it in for the 10 hour service. Sure, it might be the same and I have simply gotten used to it. And the enviromental conditions have certainly changed, but what else could cause the hole shot to be decreased?

    Thanks!
    Ed

More than likely its your plastic wear ring. They wear very quickly. Especially when doing lots of hole shots.

    Thanks.
Pardon my lack of mechanical expertise, but what does changing this wear ring entail?

    Ed:

I just did this myself, at least the tear down part. Very easy to do. have not gotten my new wear ring and impeller yet (coming on Thursday) so I have not yet reversed the process.

Go to the "important RXP information" section and look under the pump removal section. The only part that threw me was having to go to sears and buy a 12mm alen wrench.

Just take your time. It took me about 45 minutes following the instructions to get the pump out..........

items that cause cavitation or airation(sp).

    1. Worn wear ring
    2. impeller boot came off impeller
    3. messed up impeller
    4. leak in carbon seal (sucks air from inside the hull through seal)
    5. pump support poorly sealed to the hull.
    6. bad seal/seal misaligned between pump and pump support.
