I use a garmin 276, not the cheapest but has a decent size screen & has all the features you'll ever need.

    just got a keymaze 300,

perfect for wrist and also fits around bar pad on the gpr

same functions as 201 garmin but keymaze will plot your trip on google earth and log the speeds along the way..

charges from a usb and i think a good unit..

check out the web site for info

Just ordered a lowrance 600c. Works on land with turn by turn and also has the marine charts preloaded. Is waterproof up to 9 ft for 30 minutes so should be good to go. Not sure about the hard drive and wave jumping time will tell.

I just bought a garmin 76csx walmart has it for about 300$ it's waterproof and floats.. also does turn by turn directions (yes you have to buy the maps for it) I am happy with it so far. They do make all types of mounts for it as well. (and the mounts usually lock to the unit)
