screw in my shoe is spinning!

i was going to take off my shoe to seal it and when i got to the 3rd screw, it just spins without coming out...
i put the other 2 screws back in and said the hell with sealing the shoe...

my question is, is it safe to ride like that? probably is because its obviously been like that since i got the ski... should i get it fixed?

    Welcome

    What kind of boat ?

Not only can the single piece old style shoe inserts spin in the hull, they can also pull thru the hull. 03 had a factory recall on this problem.

Take the battery box out put a vicegrip on it and tighten it back up. If I were you I would replace the brackets and seal the pump shoe. if you do not want to change the brackets you could put some jb weld on the one that came lose, after you tighten it.

Here is an 01 that had a pump shoe bolt "spin". The reason it was spinning is because the shoe was pulling out of the hull. Note how big the hole was after cleaning up the broken hull material.

yeah, it sucks but I would really say you should install your PPK and replace the brackets...

it sucks installing and scrapping that stuff off, and putting new brackets in, but it is well worth it!

After you get the shoe out the tunnel needs to be reinforced. Chances are the reason its spinning is due to the fact its on its way thru the hull. Updating to the new brackets isn't enough. That entire area needs to be reinforced with a kit found here in the online store.

Seriously, the minute you only fix the bracket the tunnel will crack from increased tunnel pressure.
