    Seadoo alignment tool dimensions.

    Hi Folks,

    I have a 97 XP and a 96 SPX. Just ready to install a new engine in the XP. I ahve asked in another forum if anybody would give me the dimensions to a alignment tool. Funds are short, and shipping/returning from Canada is a beaureaucratic nightmare. I am looking for the dimensions for a alignment tool;

    1) Diameter of the 4 locating holes.
    2) Diameter of the centre hole.
    3) Distance between the upper two holes.
    4) Distance between the lower two holes.
    5) Distance from one upper hole to the centre.
    6) Distance from one lower hole to the centre.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Here are the dimensions I have gathered after extensively measuring a pump housing. If anybody could corroborate these dimensions, it would be much appreciated.

    Hey Tippy.... I have the complete alignment tool set for all motors.... I'm not good with drawings though, and those are some tuff dimensions.

    The best I think I could offer is to get some thick card board and trace things out for you. Then mail up to Canada.

    Would that work??

    Another idea would be to bolt the pump up and find the correct diameter metal rod, just careful of the pump seals.... this could be wayyy off the wall as if this worked a lot of people would be doing it I would think.

    Let me know if I can help.

    Hey THANKS PDX !!!

    It is not really as bad as it seems. If you measure the centre hole diameter probably 20-25mm, and measure the diameter of the 4 locating holes probably 10mm diameter, then measure with vernier calipers hole edge to hole edge. While hole edge to hole edge will not be the same as the centre to centre distances, a little math to add 2 half hole diameters and viola we have the centre to centre distance. I really appreciuate any help.

    Tippy,
    I have the alignment tool pump but don't have the shaft. I would sell it cheap if you are interested.
    Thanks,

    Here is a simpler version to measure;

    A= Inside upper location hole to inside upper location hole.
    B= Inside upper location hole to centre alignment hole.
    C= Diameter of alignment hole.
    D= Inside upper location hole to inside lower location hole.
    E= Inside lower location hole to centre alignment hole.
    F= Diameter of location hole.
    G= Inside lower location hole to inside lower location hole.

    I don't have a set of calipers so I used my metal ruler and your second drawing....everything is in mm:
    A=155
    B=92
    C=36
    D=126
    E=103
    F=11
    G=219

    If you need exact measurements I'd wait for someone with calipers because with this ruler it is really hard to see the difference between anything less than 1mm.

    Shipping the plate wouldn't be a nightmare. We would just say it is a gift, the nightmare would be in sending the alignment rod.

    Thanks Lurker,

    Your dimensions were of help. With a couple more of vernier measurements I will post what I beleive to be the final version. Just waiting on a couple forum members to get back to me.
