    Post Looking at a 2001 xr1800

I am looking at a 2001 xr1800 for $8000. Low hours and in great condition. What problem areas should I look for and what work needs to be done to this boat for reliable water fun? I have always loved PWC but need to do the family thing and the 1800 looks like fun. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have a 2000. Ok, the list is something like this...

    1) Secure the pump tunnel cleanout plugs!! They are in the back, and they tend to loosen, and shoot a gyser 50ft in the air out the back of your boat, then if the plug doesnt land in the boat and hit someone, it sinks to the bottom of the leake/ocean.
    2) get an air/fuel seperator
    3) switch to premix, ditch the oil pump.

This should answer all your questions:
