Exclamation MY Polaris, something bad happened

Hello everybody, its me again, if you dont remember i had the post with the mint shape pro 1200....look down the page a bit to view ?

But anyways, im going throught the water and then all of a sudden there was no thrust and the engine bay was making noise......

End up being after i took a through inspection, engine was 100% safe and working, the noise was coming from the driveshaft. I took the rear jet assembly off and noticed that the drive shaft stripped out !

Where can i get a replacement ? How is the shaft connected ?

    Pics are coming....

right now i feel like real crap, i just bought this thing Help please !

Well i pulled that bitch out, loosened the clamps and presto....i guess i was being to preacautious.....

Well it looks like its fried and mine as weel replaced the coupler....

My question is why did this happen ? I was just riding it like any other day....i hit maybe a 2 ft wave then bam !

Also it looks like the prop is rough, what would be a good replacement ? Thanks, chris

It would seeem to me that the previous owner must have run through some rocks or floating debris if the prop looks rough. This could account for the splines on the drive shaft almost being stripped...then when you rode it, just coming out of the water and back in puts a lot of sudden force on the prop which in your case was just enough to finish off the stripped splines. Get a new prop and drive shaft and you should be good to go. Also, as a precaution, take a good look at the stator to make sure things look ok with it...it may have damage also...ie. the bearings.

well i just talked to sharpes marine in oswego, ny

They said it was probley caused by no greesing of the nipple. I just bought it from the dealer and they should have done this. I believe this is the problem because it was smoking and there was no grease in there when i pulled the shaft out....

Shouldnt the dealer be liable for this ? Im mean i only put maybe 5 hrs on it since ive owned it....
