    My Turbo RXT

2005 RXT home made turbo set up. The turbo is a dsr330 its a copy of the garret t28.

    Riva ECU 50lb injectors
    Riva valve springs
IS I/C on riva bracket and piping
    Greedy BOV
    Turbo smart boost controler
    Home made thermostat
    Catch can
Block gard, RR oil jet and 6 layer head gasket

The whole set up has been made so I can go back to stage 3 in about 3 hours work.

The whole set up has cost about $2200 to go from stage 3+ b kit to turbo. The first race I entered it into I came 3rd after only getting it running the day before the race and having 5 mins testing.

I have done some testing this friday. 74mph with 13/19 solas and 83 ring at 8450rpm 13-14psi boost good A/F readings.

Put the 81 ring in and wound up the boost 16psi and A/F was in the 13's. On the way back to the boat ramp to install the RRFPR the thermostat housing blew apart and the over heat came on

I hope that I havent done any damage. I will get the thermostst fixed tihs week and RRFPR installed and do some more testing next weekend.

74mph seams a bit slow but I have a worx intake grate no wedge and no free mods.

I am hoping to get a relible 78 mph at less than 18psi but I think I will need a bigger turbo. More money that I dont have!!

RXT-X is over $26,000NZD here in New Zealand.

I am going to race this for this winters enduro and see how it goes. I think a stock RXT-T is what I want for next years enduro. I am starting to hate working on skis now!

i bet the spool time is nice with that turbo tho huh?

i had a mental fight with myself for a long time over which turbo to go with... i wound up with something bigger than what you have myself, but i'm sure it'll be a little more laggy. drag racing and holeshots aren't my thing tho, i like mid-range and constant pulling all the way up top, i'm a rec rider that takes a river ride for 7 hours ya know

74 mph with very little tuning time, no wedge, no free mods... nothing to sneeze at for a 3-seater

i guess on 50# injectors and the Riva ECU, you found what most people do, the A/f ratio goes to crap after 15psi or so

i was surprised to see you were using a 13/19 solas... i could have thought it would need more prop than that

nice work tho!! you need to start somewhere, and you started off pretty well for doing it yourself if you ask me!

    Thanks.

There is a bit of lag as its not a ball bearing turbo but it was cheep and Im only after topend. My B kit would kill it out of the hole but its got good mid range power.

Yep 15 psi seams to be the limit for the RIVA ECU I didnt think it would go that far so not too bad.

I have got a 15/20 but its had 2mm taken out of it. So i dont know what to do: re bent the 15/20 or stay with the 13/19 and nozzle it down. I do have a 80mm ring and can get them made cheep.
