FX 140/HO intake mod
Instead of purchasing the RIVA velocity stacks I modified the factory Yamaha units. Simple to do. All you'll need is a screwdriver, 10mm socket and ratchet set up, and a 1/8 drill bit. It's not as pretty as the RIVA anodized stacks but will do just fine for me .

Do you have any RPM results yet after the Mods?

I'm still in the process of breaking this ski in (FXHO 3.3 hrs). I did the same mod to my FX 140 (73 hrs) and it would rev to 10,300 with ease. It also had a better throttle response. It's also a little louder, which I like.

I looked at my 2004 FXHO, the drill for the rivets? would you give more details?

Yes I'm running the Riva filter. And the drill bit that I used to drill the rivets out was a 1/8th inch. Just drill the heads of the rivets off andthe two plastic pieces will seperate.

Hi Eight Lug,
I'm looking at doing this on my 2006 FX HO. Have you had any problems with this mod in the last couple years?
