Thumbs up SS Intake grate test results!

I recived a PRE-Production Stainless steel intake grate from Jerry (Greenhulk) for testing. This grate was direct from the foundry and still had the casting mold lines on the grate ( this was rushed to me for testing) I removed the casting mold lines with a grinder/ belt sander / file. The production grates will have all this done prior to shipping to the comsumer I am sure. I tested this grate using a stock un modified R&D gpr 800 grate in back to back testing. The test were done on a 75 Mph ski and a 85mph ski On both ski's the speeds were exactly the same as with the stock 800 grate. The only thing I saw was a 30 -50 rpm"s less with the SS grate ( which has the two center bars .125- .150 thinner that the R&D 800 grate) This will allow more undisturbed water to the prop which will explain the rpm diffrence. For the guys that want to blueprint match this grate to there shoe/ hull and get that extra .5-1 mph this is the grate to have . Since you want have to worry about it cracking and wasted all the time you spent bluprinting your grate only to have to do it again due to a failure. IMO this is a must have for anyone who has a GPR that is capable of 70+ mph or faster for safety reasons. I recomend this grate to all forum members that ride GPR's If you have any Questions you would like me to answer about this grate just post them on this topic and I will reply Sap. Everyone needs to thank Jerry for going to the time and dollars to have this stainless steel grate made for Us! Thank You. Tommy Jordan

    Tommy

forgive me for being a little skeptical but i need to verify your claims to ensure that are not biased.

Please DHL over night ship the grate to me here in Sydney Australia so I can carry out these tests myself

just kidding, thanks for testing one of these out for us.

Any time you can get the water to the impeller that has less cavation bubbles and the water is more solid when it is compressed by ths impeller and the reduction nozzle the higher the thrust that exits the rear nozzle is. More Pounds of thrust=more speed and acceleration. The thicker bars on the R&D 800 grate disturb the water a lot more than the thinner bars on th SS grate. Tommy Jordan

I'm curious to see if there is a change in pump tunnel pressure.
