    Advent 1290D

Just out of curiousity, how many feel that the Advent has a great advantage or just mediocre for a non-ported stock engine ski.No big bore or ported.I wanted 2 ask because I put one in on my 2001 1200R and it has 150 psig. stock head along with re-jetted stock carbs and VFIII's and an 05' pump with stock box yg-df 14-20.It really didn't seem any better other than slight acceleration and a little smoother firing, but it slowed me down on the top end by a little over 1 m.p.h. and changed the exhaust sound as well. The setting were Riva Single with the 84 curve and snap 60.

I had the same thing happen to me last year on a back to back test. The small consensus was more fuel was needed for the advent.

Duke the jetting on carbs were done by Jim. I believe they were the standard jetting specs that are used most common with this set-up.

Phil I agree. I too was surprised to see the slower top end as well.It seemed to be a bit louder in terms of exhaust tone and it was definitely more aggressive through the chop and stayed near the upper rev. range and never seemed to slow down compared to the stock e.c.u., however with the stock e.c.u. it seems to take a little longer to get to top end but it is faster as the advent seems quicker to get there but no increase in rpm, as a matter of fact rpm was down by as much as 50 and top speed decreased by almost 2 m.p.h.
