Cold Air Intakes? Why Not On A Honda?
I've seen a couple different threads on here and on pwctoday.com about Kawi 15f owners and others fabricating cold air intakes for their skis? Wouldn't something similar be possible for us 12x owners?
I know Nitro has talked about the biggest reason for a larger intercooler being ambient air. (It gets warm inside the hull.) Even with very cool water temps for the cooling system. That being said there's got to be a better CAI design. Maybe not as "waterproof", but safe enough to use in most conditions.
Running a filter straight off the turbo seems somewhat counter-productive, albeit easy to do. (If you upgrade the intercooler) Let me know your thoughts guys.

While doing some pre-season checks on my R12X, I noticed there are 3 air intake hoses behind the storage bin. I re-routed the one which take outside air from two openings beside the hood latch, routed it over the right side of the fuel tank, & ending near the oil tank. I will splice another length of hose to it and run it under the exhaust manifold to just under the turbo. I suppose one could connect it directly to the turbo.....

Be careful of water injestion, the turbo blades won't stand much.

Yes, I understand that.....and the hose will end right next to the bilge.
