    700 to 760??

I just scored 760 pistons cylinders and a head for my xl700 and it already has all the goodies an xl760 would have like upgreaded gauges and reverse so I figured I would get a rebuild in order! my question is what else would I neet to convert a 700 to a 760? it has 38 mm not 44's but I probably can jet my way around that any suggestions appreciated! Z

i am pretty sure it uses the raider 62T?? cases and the dual 44's and probably different ignition timing. this is 2/3 a 65U where the 701 is 2/3 a 63m.

search the X. those guys do this all the time. if you post, don't let them know it's for a couch

what sponsons do you have ??
if i remember right the 760 had a hooked sponson and the 700 were just wedges bolted to the sides

i don't think you can get away with putting that 760 cyl on 700 cases. the pistons won't allow the clearance. i have both plus a whole 760 engine i built and lots of extas for 700 including riva pipe.all my bikes are stock for fuel efficiency and pre mix uses less oil.the 760 motor is built for speed with factory pipe reeds side draft with red top carbs aluminum head with domes rev limiter from pro tec 40 over pro-x pistons. with stock head was runnin 62. need any parts? thanks! I think it's doable but I'm still checking into it! ps I think premix uses more oil specially on the variable rate machines
