Painting Inside of GPR Hull!?!
I posted this in the Yamaha section but I thought I would try here as well cause I know a lot of you guys are painting the inside of your conversion GPR hulls.
I want to paint the inside of my hull but I need to know what I should do to prep it and what kind of paint to use.
I assume just scrub it with some degreaser and make sure it's nice and dry.
Light sanding to give the paint a better chance of sticking?!
Could I just use rattle can spray paint? If so what kind?
Sorry for all the questions..I just don't want to screw it up!
Thanks a lot!

per the instructions of the guys here, I'm going to attempt this on a ski. I was told to use an epoxy based paint over a roughed up hull.
I'm not sure a primer is necessary.

I sanded my a$$ OFF, I used some sort of special primer that is supposed to help paint adhere to SMC and fiberglass. Then did exactly what the instructions said. I painted 3 coats of paint and dried with heat lamps. It actually sat for about a month and a half because the motor was out being rebuilt. After about the 2nd or 3rd time out BAM... SNOW FLURRY INSIDE THE HULL. All of the vibration and chemical,s flying around in there and I had a phucked up mess. Still to this day 1 year later picking paint chips out of everything. If you paint anything I would only do the sides, it has seemed to stay pretty good on that part. Also that is the only part visible after the motor is back in place. I did the back of the ski behind the mid wall with spray in bed liner, it came out nice.

That is why it was suggested to use epoxy paint. I'll give it a shot, but I'm still not sure about needing primer with epoxy paint. I don't think you do.

How about Rhino liner ? Would help deepen the engine sound a bit. It does add a little weight though.
