Seadoo Washer Problem
In regards to the ceramic washer problem, and the fact that Seadoo is not issuing a recall to replace them with metal ones, has anyone here tried conntacting your State's Consumer Protection Board to file a complaint? It seems to me that would be the next step as Seadoo has acknowledged the problem by using metal washers in the 2008 models.

designs improve, technology changes. sure people have taken legal action to get them to fix things. has it worked, I don't know.
put the metal washers in yourself and go on with life.

Yeah, kinda sucks. I just purchased an 06 used RXT and now I am seeing all the washer threads. I called since I have extended warrantee and they said they will not cover it under preventative maintenance only if they fail.
BTW. Now when they are replaced they use the metal washers.

I think that a recall is done due to safety or life-threating problems. Like the X-models blowing off the couplers and the skis could sink. True, the engine could self-destruct, but this is more like a timing belt failing and the pistons striking the valves on an interference engine. You still get to walk away, but with a big bill... Ron
