    flaring J pipe

I thought that there was a post on how much to flare the pipe going into the water box. Was it a quarter inch bigger in diameter and a inch and a quarter up. I could not find the information.

Correct, the bottom flaring on the end of the exhaust pipe will help scavenge exhaust as it flows throught he pipe, assiting in better airflow and reducing backpressure...

1/8th bump out, which is 1/4" total, will make the pipe go from 2.0" to 2.25" ID......1.5" from the bottom of an untrimmed pipe...

*if a local shop sizes it for you, make sure they DO NOT place the opening of the die on the seem when they POP it, otherwise the weld will split...

PM me your info and I can take care of it if you want

Thanks for the reply Danny. I wasn't sure from the picture If the flare at the end was stock or not. Sounds good. I am a car mechanic and have exhaust flare tools so I'll have to pull my pipe and do it. Are there any sure gains from this?

The flow work we did represents cruising speed, which is about 6000 rpm...Reports from flaring are gains of about 40-60 RPM @ WOT (8100rpm), depending on setups...

If you waterbox is stock, I would say a 20-40 gain, gutted or Greenbox about 40-60...Weather and air intake vary...

But it assists in airflow, and better airflow through the exhaust is good
