    1998 gtx ltd blows fuses

Was out riding last weekend and it was running great. I was going about 50 when it totally lost all electrical power and died. Got a very slow tow to shore and found the 15amp fuse in the mpem marked battery was blown. I replaced it and had power back. The ski started right up and ran for about 2 seconds and again lost all power. This time the fuse was not blown. I looked around and found the 15amp fuse in the rear box by the started solenoid blown. I replaced it and power was back. I started the ski once again and just let it idle. It ran 30 seconds til I gave it a little gas then the fuse blew again. I've metered out the stator and it all looks good, changed the battery, ohmed all battery cables. Everything looks good, any idea's on the cause of the fuses blowing ? Thanks

The 15 amp fuse is for the charging system,if the stator is good then the only other thing would be the MPEM.

The reg/rect for the charging system is in the MPEM.

I have a good used one with a key for $275 plus shipping.

New is $600. LMK if interested.

Would hooking the ski up to a charger on the 50A start create this problem. My dad did this about 3 hours of run time before this problem started. Also does this info pinpoint the regulator/rectifier in the mpem as the cause.

You don't want to trickle charge with more than 1 Amp... Ron
