    Staying in New Orleans Downtown

Asking for some advice on staying in New Orleans. I would like to stay downtown for two nights after Mudbug and not have to drive. Just eat, drink and party! I called the Royal Sonesta Hotel and Their rates are not too bad for being on Burbon street, but parking the ski's and the truck is going to kill me- 33 for the truck and another 33 for the ski's per night. Does anybody know any other options for hotels and parking downtown? I don't want to lose my ski's. But one thing about the Sonesta, they will be secure, but for that price, I'll stand guard with my AR. Anybody from that neck of the woods have any suggestions?

Maybe somebody has a place close to New Orleans that I can drop them off and then come back to pick them up. It is a double trailer with a RXT and GTXDI.

Skip, my advice is to pay the money and keep them at the Sonesta. It's a super nice hotel and you will have a much better time just having peace of mind that your skis are safe and secure.

Thanks for the response, sometimes you have to pay to play! How is the water level looking?

I've stayed at the Sonesta many times and recommend it. Nice place - but it looks like you're going to have to pony up for the parking. Or, you could unwillingly donate your skis to the local wildlife.

I'd say you could leave them at my house, but I alrady have 3 ski's in the driveway and two vehicles. ( I live in Metaire, about 8 miles from downtown.) But hey, I can put my ski's on the front lawn and you can park in the driveway..

Thanks for the offer, I'll just park them at the hotel and not worry about it. Maybe go riding on Bourbon street.
