Ski insurance, what do you have?

After reading about duane's ski's getting stolen, I decided to buy some insurance for my new '08 rxtx. I'm with farmers on my house and vehicles so I got a quote.

For theft replacement $500 ded, towing damage $250 ded, Med $250, Accident $250, I got for one year for $286.

    Is that about norm?

So, if your looking to steal a ski , I'll park mine outside.

    REad the policy CAREFULLY

Especially about the sections regarding modifications..

That price is exactly what I am paying. I called 3 places when I looked for mine and they were all withing $5 of each other

I'm only 45, and I was hoping I wouldn't live that long but with my luck I'll live to be 100.

I've got a woman and 13 year old that ride it also, so I'm not sure how far I'll go on mods. More of a concern with my boy though as the woman wont go over 40mph. Of course anyone who has fallen off anything at that speed on water knows what thats like.

I filled the ride plate holes, blocked the opas in the up position and will probably do the catch can and 4 inch air intake. Other than than that if someone stole my ski I'd be tickled shitless to just pay alittle and get a new ski and trailer

When I bought insurance for the ski my concerns were not so much in protecting the ski but protecting us from unisured boaters and protect us from other parties involved in a situation

Make sure these company's cover theft. if ur out on the water or parked somewhere. i called some company's like geico. and they said they only cover theft if i had the ski in a locked enclosure like a garage.... I went with progressive. they cover theft anywhere, also i get 75 nautical miles tow. and some other things.. i pay 540 for the year...

    Progressive

I chose Progressive. $115 per year covers both PWC and trailer with $500 ded. on Comp and Coll. Liability is $100K/$300K. My wife and 14 year-old daughter are also covered.
The teenager can be a problem. GEICO told me they would also cover her. However, liability drops to $25K and ded. jumps to $2,500. I called Progressive and AAA. Both had better coverage for less $. Progressive was the lowest for me.
    Please check rates and coverage.
