GIO in my 2008 250X
I think I have the GIO problem on my 08 250X. When I smelled the oil filler cap on my ski it definitely smelled like fuel. I still need to check the oil level from the last time I rode. Are there other ways to check and verify the GIO problem? I bought one of the early production 08's since i have had my ski in early December of 07. What can I do to get rid of this problem completely? Will the vent kit do the trick and is this a fairly easy mod to do?

how many hours do you have. How many oil changes so far.

The smell of gas does not mean GIO. If your oil level is rising then you have GIO. Most oil after a few hours will smell of gas. Better to do your sniffing from the oil stick while checking your levels.

smell the dip stick, if it has the sweet smell of fuel - change it
if the oil rises - change it
