    87 vs. 91

...octane that is. I have a couple of 2000 GPRs I bought at the end of last season. The previous owner said he always ran 91 octane (that's premium here in AZ) but he told me he didn't do any engine work other than upgrading the PVs. Should I run 87 or 91? With gas prices what they are, if I can save a few pennies, why not? Thanks in advance.

There is no reason to run 91 octane. In fact it will slow you down because the 91 octane burns slower and is not needed on a stock compression ski.

flip side of the coin is I run it (91) in all mine! just cause ski's sit and octane starts to drop! so for a few pennies I feel better . plus the AZ heat is comming

I tend to run my skis until they're near empty and fill up the day before heading out to the lake. We generally camp over a long weekend and have very few, if any, day trips in a season. Does ambient temperature (100 +) affect the decision of 87 vs. 91?

87 will save you money, and make more power on stock compression..
