Medical bills and Search and Rescue missions are expensive! Medical situations can last a lifetime. Be careful what you choose to do!

Have fun, but be safe doing it!

MARSHALL COUNTY, Okla. - A tragic accident has claimed the life of one and left another in serious condition.

It happened around six o'clock Sunday night around the islands on the Oklahoma side of Lake Texoma, closer to the Marshall County line.
Eric Sorenson, 19, died at the scene. Zachary Slagle, 19, was flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas in serious condition. Robert Slagle, 20, was treated and released from the scene with minor injuries. Slagle is said to still be in serious condition Monday afternoon.

Lake patrol says the drivers of two jet skis were jumping waves, weaving around on the water when they collided. All three were thrown into the water.

Witness Jimmy Crow was out on the lake at the time of the accident and says he saw the men earlier in the day hanging out with a group of friends, having a good time. He says his heart goes out to the families in these tragic times.

"You know they were going back and forth spraying each other and one ran into the other one and I didn't absolutely see that, but it's obvious looking at the watercraft from what happened,” said Crow. “One broadsided the other, and I believe it killed him on impact.

    It's a pretty horrific crash."

Boy To Have Leg Amputated After Crash On Personal Watercraft

    POSTED: 7:42 am EDT May 5, 2008
    UPDATED: 9:28 am EDT May 5, 2008

KEY BISCANE, Fla. -- A ten-year-old boy is recovering after he was badly injured in a watercraft collision. Investigators say the boy was riding with his uncle on Biscayne Bay in South Florida on Sunday when they collided with a man and woman on another watercraft.

The boy's leg was crushed and his foot was severed during the crash. Eyewitnesses say the man and woman took off.

A Good Samaritan helped pull the boy from the water and called for help

"I was terrified because the injury was so severe and the cut on his foot was huge," said Sandra Herrera, the Good Samaritan who helped the boy to safety.

Officials say the boy's injuries were so severe that his leg will have to be amputated from the knee down. The boy's uncle suffered a broken leg.

Two Injured In Personal Watercraft Accident

Happened Near Bear Cut On Biscayne Bay

Call the F.W.C At 305-956-2500 If You Have Any Information.

MIAMI (CBS4) ― A 10-year-old boy and his uncle were rushed to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital after a personal watercraft accident near Bear Cut on Biscayne Bay.

Investigators say the accident, which occurred early Sunday afternoon, involved a man and woman on a personal watercraft that collided with a second personal watercraft driven by the man who had his young nephew, Ruben Encarncacion Jr. onboard. The impact sent both flying into the water.

A good Samaritan, Sandra Herrera, and her husband rescued them and called for help. Herrera applied pressure to the young boy's leg.

"I was terrified when I saw the kid's wound, it was just too huge," said Herrera. "It was incredible and the blood gushing everywhere. I basically put a towel and applied as much pressure as I could to stop the bleeding"

The driver of the personal watercraft suffered a broken leg and was transferred to a waiting ambulance. The 10-year-old boy, who suffered a severed foot, was airlifted by the Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter crew to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.

According to investigators, the boy will not have to lose his right leg, however, he will have to undergo several operations to repair the bone and tissue.

The boy's father, Ruben Encarnacion Sr., broke down and slammed his fist on a fence in frustration outside the hospital.

"I feel really hurt because someone had an accident with my kid and they left and didn't help him," said Encarnacion Sr.

After the accident, the man and woman reportedly took off in their dark colored watercraft.

"I don't understand how you could see that and there's a kid and not stop and help," explained Herrera.

Miami Dade Fire Rescue, Miami and the U.S. Coast Guard are all involved in the accident investigation which is being led by officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission or F.W.C.

Bear Cut is a channel that separates the northern tip of Key Biscayne from Virginia Key, and the Atlantic Ocean from Biscayne Bay.

If you have any information about the accident please call the F.W.C at 305-956-2500.

A Sherman, Texas, man was killed in a personal watercraft collision early Sunday evening on Lake Texoma in Marshall County.

Eric Sorenson, 19, was dead at the scene due to head injuries, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

According to the patrol, Robert Slagle, 20, Sherman, and Sorenson were each jumping waves on their personal watercrafts near North Island when Slagle’s watercraft struck Sorenson’s on the left side.

Both operators and a passenger on Sorenson’s watercraft, Zachary Slagle, were ejected. The victims were pulled from the water by a passerby who witnessed the crash, according to the patrol.

Robert Slagle was treated and released at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, for minor injuries. Zachary Slagle was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, Texas, and is in serious condition with a head injury, according to the patrol.

According to Trooper Darrell Richardson’s report, reckless driving was the cause of the crash.

Members of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team still have not found a 46-year-old Ellenwood man who is presumed drowned after he fell from a personal watercraft near Aqualand Marina.
Today, officers plan to continue their search for Broderick Bradford, 46, with specially trained dogs and sonar devices in water that is approximately 60 feet deep, said Maj. Jeff Strickland.
Bradford was operating a personal watercraft when it overturned at about 7 p.m. Sunday. As he was trying to get back on the device, Bradford disappeared under water and did not resurface. Bradford was not wearing a life jacket at the time, according to the sheriff’s office.
A passenger who was wearing a flotation device was not hurt. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
After the Hall County Sheriff’s Office dive team searched for Bradford until dark Sunday, officers spent Monday searching for Bradford’s body with a Side Scan Sonar device. The dive team had already searched the area, which spans as much as five acres, for Bradford until dark on Sunday, Strickland said.
Witnesses have not been able to tell authorities exactly where Bradford went under water.
The search resumes at 8 a.m. today.
