Thread: Impeller question

Running greenwheel with 4" intake and hitting 8200 rpms... hitting the limiter
What impeller would work the best?..Speed over acceleration would be best so probably 60/40 ratio

Would i need to pitch it at all? you think?

Maybe It will probably put you around 7950. I would not pitch it though. I would add power to get you to 8100. Gutting your stock waterbox and removing the resonator would be the cheapest way to gain a few rpm's.

resonator has been out for awhile...stock s/c impeller i was at 8100

Yes, you may have been at 8100 with stock sc impeller but you were not running a 15/20. It takes more power to get 8100 with the 15/20. I realize you are running a green wheel now but still think you will be a little short on rpm's with the 15/20. Keep in mind there is a big speed dif between 8100 on stock prop and 8100 with 15/20. probably 3 to 4 mph. Add an external I/C and you should be there for sure. Bottom line is you wont know until you try it. I still suggest 15/20r for speed.
