I will probably be leaving Orlando at 6 in the morning which would put me in the BR area around 3:00 pm or so. I will have a better idea after my trip down there. I will have to pick up my girls in BR on my way back to Alexandria/Pineville anyway. I will holler at you. --jeremy

Well. . . today was my worst day ever on the river. Long story very short (this all happened over about 8 hours):

    - Put in at Fred's.
    - Rode 40 miles all the way down the Amite then across the lake to the jam.
    - Cracked open the first beer.
    - Noticed the ski taking on water.
    - Figured out it was the bailer tube that came off.
    - Plugged the hole with a cigarette butt while removing the cowl with a rusty pair of pliers.
    - Repaired the bailer tube and put it back together.
    - Went for a quick ride to suck all the water out.
    - Returned to find a much larger leak.
    - After only 2 beer, gave up on drinking for the day.
    - Pushed ski to shore (by the time we got there, it was full of water)
    - Discovered that an OPAS blockoff was missing leaving a 1.5" hole.
    - Rode around on my friends ski asking people for anything that could plug a hole.
    - Determined the best bet was to use my friends un-used registration sticker to cover the hole, but had to lift the rear of the water-filled ski out of the water and set it on a log to be able to clean the area and put on the sticker.
    - Worked pretty well, but had to lift the front too to drain the water.
    - When my date was out trying to get a cell phone signal, some dude started hitting on her and actually followed her back to us and offered his help. He helped a bit, but stayed around a bit too long. Not sure if I should be appreciative or not. . .anyway. . .
    - Then started on the engine, which was full of water.
    - Pulled plugs and spun it over a long, long time.
    - Put plugs in and got it running.

Somehow, we made it the 26 miles back to Fred's with the sticker/plug still intact. It was cutting up for the first 15 miles, probably from slugs of remaining water putting out the flame. However, by the time we got back into the Amite, it was running like a champ. I was making 13 psi boost cleanly and walking away from my friend's Stage 2+ ski. I checked the oil when I got home and it didn't have any water in it so I may have lucked out on the engine.
