A question I'd love to know too. The OEM rev-limit was definitely moved up to 8300 since '06, so does that move up the 8100 peak-HP number? Why would they up the limit to 8300, if you can't do 8200 safely?

I am only getting 8120 with current mods..
I guess l'll get a few more hours on it.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't already in the
area that the ecu would retard timing..
Wouldn't think so if the limiter is 8300

Ive read multiple times that the engine makes the most power at 8140-60. Thats why u dont pitch to 8300, along with a coupel reason that i dont remember.

We may not know 100% until one finally gets dyno'd. That's how we knew about the 8100 point for the older 4-tecs, Riva's dyno graph. Someone running with a AFR meter in that range could give us an idea too.

Keep it around 8100...here's what happened to mine running at 8200...

It runs lean and will eat the exhaust manifold bell. $350 fix.

Hey Larry, do you think I could pull a bigger prop?
Using a 14/19 pitched to 14/18 by Impros.

If our boats, or any boat for the matter, are at 81xx RPMs or just under whatever the limiter is, why change the prop at all? Would it be to increase acceleration only?
