What or how much force do I need to apply to pinch it off?

If you are going to be towing your doos alot behind your boat, i would put a shut off valve if it was me. I dont like the idea of shut off valve just for the time that you break down, but if i wanted to be sure not to get water ingestion with towing behind boat alot, then i would put a shut off valve. IMO

Just a one time deal, for now. We have been dooing a lot of looking for a decent size cabin cruiser. We thought we would try renting a boat first to see if we like it and if we like it we will buy. So my wife and I are renting a boat at Lake Mead for Memorial Day weekend. Taking the skis, the dogs, and a lot of beer figured we could ride all day and party at night!

You can actually buy a hose clamp made to cut of flow by pinching the hose. I think some dealers will sell them and maybe a hardware store.
