    Wear Ring

So I did not find anything definitive on this in a search. The new wear rings need to pressed in, but you can do this by banging over them with a 2x4 right. Also do they need to be cut out or does the freezer method work? I want to flip the ring and try the jbweld solution, but i've heard the new rings need to be cut out?

    Yep!

Removal is still very difficult. If you get it out in useable condition than you are very luckey.

+1 more for the wear ring deep freeze maneuver. Never had a problem removing them.

However, on the newer style OEM RXP ring, even though I froze the ring before install, I still had to "press" it back into the pump.

Did the 2x4 method work for pressing it in? OR did you have to do something else?

Yeppers. Put the ring in the freezer for a bit then used a 2x4 in conjunction with a small rubber mallet. About 5 conservative strikes and it was a done deal.

Alright nice! Thanks for the info guys. I just can't justify spending 120 to 200 dollars and piece that only costs 50 or so.
