    New or Reconditioned Cylinders ?

I need to replace one cylinder and two pitons on the Matrix. Would I be best to buy one new cylinder and a full piston and ring kit or do an exchange set of cylinders with pistons etc from SBT the money is about the same but unsure if the aftermarket parts would be ok for the Matrix.

send them out to be rechromed ,did the matrixs come with ported cylinders if so you want to get the redone not replaced . there are plenty of places here in the US. you can send them to for about 200.00-250.00 to redo them .

By porting I assume you mean that they have had the ports ground out to change the performance of the engine. I just had a look at the ports and they look to still have a factory finish to them so would guess that they probably haven't been. Would still be keen to send them out for rechroming though. Can you give me the names of some places that do it.

Watcon.com and Sharpesmarine.com can most likely do it for you.

The easiest thing for you to do is send them to Randy so he can inspect and have them re-nic'd for you as a lot of company's won't deal over seas.

Not unless you paid for it, there are others but mine were ported by Bush and the spare set by Delaughter.
He would also charge extra to match the intakes.
The beauty was the ability to get it built "your" way, when it came to detail items.
The single best thing I did was have him powder coat the pipes to match the paint...nice.
This is an early picture but you can see the match was pretty spot on.
