Money orders for Ebay items
Guys I am bidding on an item through Ebay and the payment is personal checks or money orders only. I am used to pay with Paypal, but this will be a first. I remember a thread about a money order through the post office that is safe or something like that.

I am worried about the other party not sending the item in question, after I sent the money order.

if they have good feedback, you should be OK. but, if things go south and you paid with a MO, you aren't getting your money back.

If your unsure about them then don't send the money. Sounds fishy if they only take a money order or personal check. I guess if they don't want to pay the paypal fees, maybe. Ebay used to have an escrow service, I believe. Once you send the money order there is practicaly no way to recoup your money easily if you get beat. How much money are we talking about and for what type of item? Nothing too good to be true, right? You have to watch for people using someones good account with good feedback to scam people.

Depending on how much money your talking about I'd probably pass...

The seller has a rating of 99.8% (1,746 positive, 2 neutral, and 4 negatives), but the negatives sound like the buyers did not notice the mail order only and did not pay.
This seller seems to be good and has been a member since '99.

With a record like that, you will be fine.
There are some people who just don't like and use PayPal. Take Ziggler, doesnt take it, but is an outstanding seller otherwise.
