    New 4" Intakes

Well I couldn't take it. I kept thinking that my 3" intake's that were about 40 inches long were holding me back so THERE GONE!!!!!! I just finished installing the new 4" Intakes and there about 6" long then on the end a K&N filter 6" round by 9" long. I took out the oil breather line and will put a catch can on it. After tons of testing the boat has gone from a stock 58.4 @ 7100 RPMs to 67.1 @ 8000 RPMs. I've added so far the old 3" intake’s, XS Intercoolers, 4501 RR ECU, SS Wear Ring, re pitch 10/20.5 and filled in the ride plate holes. I'm hoping to see 100 to 200 RPMs from the new 4" intakes... and maybe 67.5 or 68 who knows. Wish me luck tomorrow is the start of a great looking week end. I'll let you know how I do.....

Sounds great somefun Hope it spins some more revs!

btw, I ran my 3 blade skat 13/17 and had a best of 49.7 It didn't vibrate and the acceleration was on par with my re-pitch. If my tach went above 8000 rpm I might have an idea of what revs I was getting...It must be bangin' the rev limiter, I think I'll add some pitch.

Enjoy the weekend and lets see a big fat speedy 70mph!

Take some pix of your new intake and post if you don't mind

You got it Yuji. Hey when I was fooling around Friday night I noticed that with the throttles all the way WOT. I was able to grab the butter fly and open it a litter more so I adjusted the cable so it went full tilt. You may just want to check that on yours.

I followed somefun's lead & advice and copied his 4" intake set-up which is really sweet. It HAS to breathe freer, but saw a big performance decrease on Sunday. Only hit 7600-7700 rpms (vs. prior slammin the 8k limiter). Water temp was up 7 deg. F to 68, air temp was up 20 deg. F to 90, and humidity up 40% to 90. Those factors enough to cause such a drastic change in performance?
